Matthew 25:13 "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." King James Version
The book, "Running From Martial Law" soon to be available, is a fore-runner to another book I would like to write that is dealing with "Understanding Missions."
"Running From Martial Law" is a book I felt God would have us all pay attention to so we never stop watching for Jesus' return for He will return. But "Understanding Missions" is the thrust toward understanding God and how He functions because missions is a part of His very commission for us when He tells us to 'go tell all the world.' I endeavor to write the book "Understanding Missions" so this truth would be simply and better explained, rather than just the words "we should be doing missions".
Things preparing toward this goal dwells within me from a childhood interest in helping people no matter who or where they are from; wanting them to be my family. From there, I grew up and connected quickly with a great heart toward mission efforts, be it 'locally' or to 'other countries' in the area of mission work. First I reached out locally and prayerfully to eventually meeting and corresponding with certian missionaries to foreign countries until hands-on-help was accomplished where there has been several short term mission efforts completed. I have participated in these efforts as well as leading a few teams of other mission oriented people on short term mission thrusts myself with God's help. Those teams were to help build church buildings, help with medical needs, and to direct week long children's vacation bible schools in Guatemala, Mexico, as well as in the USA.
Then there are the 'at home' missions of serving on local food shelf boards and local church back-yard missions for homeless and jobless at times as well as missions of setting up prayer helps within churches. I have also helped in the area of Sunday School teaching and evangelistic outreaches through local churches I have attended; Especially with children at a lay-witness level.
All the while I was also working in the field of nursing in hospital and care-center settings, along with raising two children and caring for an ailing husband for 40 years of our 42 years of marriage. Now I am glad to say I rest with the luxury of three grandsons and time to write books.
