About THE AUTHOR

Dorothy has been a nurse for over 30 years and has been involved in missions first hand for almost as many years, either by supporting or going on mission trips or leading small mission teams in construction, gospel and or medical thus helping to build two churches and taking Vacation Bible Schools to north central Guatemala and more.

My Book

A 45 year old woman, Hannah, who would not submit to Jesus when taught by her friend Barb to get ready for the catching away, is the main character of this four part Christian fiction novel, “Running From Martial Law.” Finally Hannah becomes totally submitted to Jesus Christ and brings others into salvation knowledge. She gathers them into the protection of the Underground Church of Jesus Christ built by believers who live in old-fashioned ways. 

Through dangerous mission trips in the deep woods Hannah harvests others running from martial law, by fighting wild animals, earthquakes, martial law patrols, hunger, thirst and much more.  Finally and at last, Hannah is visited by Jesus in person while she is working in her millennial garden and her joy is complete.

Biography

Ministries author is involved with:

She attends a small ELCA mission church where she participates in helping with an interfaith hospitality network to help people temporarily out of housing and or employment.  Also she works with the church on prayer chain implementation via phone and or email.

In the past she has helped with Food Shelf works for local area’s hungry and evangelism with-in the USA and Mexico.

 

What author is passionate about as it pertains to the book:

Among her passions are missionaries and missions, prayer, bible study, astronomy and basic sky watching, church building, unity with family and friends.  She is also pioneer-like in spirit having planted gardens and processed the same via canning methods as well as freezing, etc., along with being born and raised on a farm in Staples of central Minnesota.

 

Spouse’s name, how many children:

Spouse Gary, deceased 2/17/2007 after 42 years of marriage.  Two grown children who are now on their own.  One, Kelly Pendegayosh, the mother of three grandsons who love to go to summer family Bible camp with grandma, as well as go on road trips and fishing, or just hanging-out with her, learning to cook. The other, a son, John Schmidt, MBA degreed, engaged to be married soon to Jessica Carter and is working in the field of technology. A world traveler and of great support to his widowed mother.
